Eagles' Volleyball Signs Booth

Faith Baptist Bible College and head coach Lanny Nihart are excited to announce their second signing for the 2017-2018 volleyball season. Abby Booth, of Ankeny, IA, signed her letter of intent today after finishing her career at Grand View Christian School as a 5'11" outside hitter.

In her senior season, Abby contributed 264 kills to the Grand View squad, an average of 2.32 kills per set. Because of Abby's versatile skillset, she also played a vital defensive role for Grand View, as she ranked second on the team in digs with 285, a 2.5 digs per set average. Abby was awarded All-Conference Honorable Mention her junior year and then named to 1st Team All-Conference her senior year. She has made two appearances at the Iowa High School Athletic Association State Tournament with Grand View during her sophomore and junior years.

Faith's Head Volleyball Coach Lanny Nihart had this to say about his latest recruit, "Abby provides us with a very athletic and versatile player. Offensively she can be used as an outside hitter and has the ability and speed to work from the middle. Defensively we will experiment her abilities at the right back position."

Abby's high school coach Arlie Brandmeyer was pleased with how Abby progressed through her years as a player at Grand View. "As a coach, I always look for growth in my players, not just as volleyball players, but also as people. Abby has grown so much, especially in the last year. She fully committed to volleyball and put in full effort to become a better player. Abby's parents have also been very supportive, which has really helped her grow, especially in the last year."

Abby is the daughter of Jim and Michelle Booth and will be majoring in Secondary English Education and Coaching at Faith.
