The Faith Baptist Bible College Athletic Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Brandon Fritz of Williamsburg, Iowa, effective July 1, 2017. In addition to teaching science classes, Brandon will work as the Athletic Recruitment Coordinator, the Head Women's Soccer Coach, and the Strength & Conditioning Coordinator. "Having coached a variety of sports while serving in the Williamsburg, IA school district, Brandon brings a wealth of information and experience to our department. Brandon is a discipler at heart who shares his love for Christ with those he meets, and he loves to invest in the lives of his players. Coach Jack Arneson has done a tremendous job with our women's soccer program over the past three years, and I am so thankful for the ministry, discipleship, and investment he has had in the lives of the women's soccer team members during that time. I'm excited for the future of our women's programs, with each now having a coach able to focus solely on their particular sport!" noted Director of Athletics Brian Fincham.
Fritz has taught as a secondary science educator in the Williamsburg Community Schools since 2000 as well as served as a mentor teacher for developing new teachers. While teaching, he has been involved with the strength and conditioning programs of the basketball, soccer, and volleyball teams. Recruited athletically out of high school by several colleges, Brandon's conversion to Christ right before college resulted in a decision to pursue and focus on ministries rather than participate in intercollegiate sports. Brandon has several years of coaching experience in a wide variety of sports.
Brandon holds a Bachelor of Science Education degree from the University of Iowa, a Master of Education degree in Curriculum Instruction from Olivet Nazarene University, and a Master of Science degree in Science Education from Montana State University. He is also certified in IYCA Strength and Conditioning with Speed, Jump and Olympic lifting certifications
Brandon and his wife, Natalie, serve at Harvest Baptist Church in Williamsburg, where they have been members since the church began in 2001. They serve as youth leaders, Sunday school teachers, and Bible study coordinators. Brandon is also a deacon. Brandon and Natalie have eight children—Karina, Kierstan, Eliana, Mirelli, Silas, Tyrza, Titus, and Apollos.
Brandon is excited for the ministry opportunities that await him at Faith. He loves to mentor and disciple young people, an opportunity he looks forward to both on the field and in the classroom. Brandon had this to say about his coaching role at Faith: "The most exciting aspect of coaching at Faith involves my burden of discipleship. I love to compete, but more importantly, I love to compete with excellence and be an example of Christ to a world chasing vanities in the context of sports. Competition provides a special context for Christians to growth spiritually, and I'm so fortunate to be able to grow together with and disciple students at Faith in this way."
