Turnovers Plague Men in Home Opener

The Eagle men dropped their home opener tonight as they hosted Northland International University. Faith couldn't overcome several mistakes throughout the night as they dropped the game 66-82. Faith is now 0-1 on the year.

The game remained close for most of the first half with the teams tied at seven apiece early on. Northland put together a run to put some distance between themselves and Faith, but Faith made a run back to keep it within single digits. With time running out in the half, Northland hit a three to take a 12 point lead into the break. Unfortunately, for the first ten minutes of the second half Faith could not take care of the ball. The result was a Northland lead of over 20 points with ten minutes to go. Faith was able to make the game a little interesting with a run to cut the Northland lead to 14, but that was as close as the Eagles would get as they fell by 16 to the Pioneers.

Tyler Betz led the Eagles in scoring with 25 points while handing out five assists. Eric Young finished with 11 points and 12 rebounds and grabbed three steals. Dillon Gingerich added 10 points to the total. Faith will face Emmaus Bible College on Saturday in the final game of the Faith Classic tournament. That game wil tip at 4 PM.
