In the opening round of the conference tournament Faith squared off against Emmaus for their third matchup of the season. Emmaus had won the previous two contests and Faith was looking to bounce back and get the tournament victory.
Faith came out with good energy and stout defense. Faith created several opportunities throughout the half but, despite outshooting Emmaus 12-3 in the first half the score remained knotted at 0-0 going into the half. As the second half was underway it appeared the two teams might be dead locked in a 0-0 tie. However, in the 82nd minute Josh Bray once again created a dangerous situation off of a deep throw in and Riley Stuckey capitalized by knocking the ball throw for the goal and the 1-0 lead. Faith would hold out in the final minutes to preserve the victory and go on to face #1 seed Ozark Christian in the second round.
"I was real proud of the way our guys fought, they came out prepared and remained disciplined for 90 minutes to beat a gritty Emmaus team in a defensive battle."
