The Faith Baptist Bible College women's basketball team hit the road this past weekend for a pair of conference games. Faith faced Ozark Christian College on Friday and won the game 55-47. On Saturday, Faith headed to Kansas City, Mo to play conference opponent Calvary Bible College. Faith lost the game in overtime 55-68. Faith is now 4-15 on the year.
On Friday, Faith didn't shoot the ball well. However, with rebounding and a strong defensive effort, they were able to hold off Ozark Christian College. Jenna Bean led Faith in scoring with 17 points to go along with a team high four assists. Ashley Pearson recorded her first double double of her college career with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Hannah Nichols had a season high nine points.
On Saturday Faith was able to mount a great comeback late in the game against Calvary Bible College. At the end of the first half, Faith was down 16-25. They were able to pick up the intensity and gets stops to win the second half 31-22 capped off with a three pointer by Jenna Bean with 15 seconds left to tie the game at 47. However, Calvary was too much to handle in overtime as they scored 21 points to Faith's 8 points. Faith was led in scoring by Jenna Bean with 13 points to go along with her team high six assists. Ashley Pearson led the team in rebounds with 12. Becca Saatmann had 10 points.
With the conference regular season games completed, Faith will now play Calvary Bible on Thursday, February 14th at 11:00 AM in the first round of the conference tournament. The conference tournament is hosted by Ozark Christian College. Faith's last home game is Tuesday, February 12th vs. Grace University. That game will tip off at 5:30 PM.
