Eagles Win 10th Game of Season

LINCOLN, Nebraska—Lyndi Shepard recorded her fourth hat trick of the year and the Faith Eagles won their school-record 10th game of the season with a 5-0 shutout over Nebraska Christian on Monday.

Jessica Frerichs scored her second goal of the year less than two minutes into the game to put the Eagles on top, 1-0. Less than a minute later, Lyndi Shepard scored the first of her three goals to increase Faith's lead to two. Nebraska Christian tightened up their defense the rest of the half, holding the Eagles to a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Early in the second half, Faith struck again with a goal from Aubree Smith, her sixth of the season. Shepard added her second and third goals at the 68-minute and 71-minute mark to give the Eagles an easy 5-0 victory.

Faith managed 17 shots on goal versus only one for Nebraska Christian. Abigail Speichinger, Carrigan McCoid, Lydia Trygstad, and Lyndi Shepard each had an assist.

The Eagles (10-4) return home for one of the biggest regular-season games in school history as the #3 ranked Faith Eagles take on the #4 ranked Maranatha Sabercats on Saturday, October 26, at 2:00 p.m. Maranatha defeated Faith, 1-0, earlier this season in Watertown, Wisconsin.
