Lady Eagles Play in Quad

The Faith volleyball team traveled to Grace Bible College in Grand Rapids, MI this past weekend for a quadrangular.

Saturday was a different day in terms of winning and losing. The Eagles took on host Grace Bible College who has been in and out of the NCCAA national rankings.  Grace defeated Faith 3-1, led by nationally-ranked Adrianna Bunch with 19 kills and 14 digs. The Eagles could only muster an 11.5% attack during the match but did have an encouraging set two of 21.2%. "We played hard with energy and enthusiasm for the first time in quite awhile," noted Coach Nihart. "We executed 50/50 balls and put some offensive pressure on a good team." Faith was led offensively by freshmen Abby Booth with 12 kills and defensively by libero Cara Hodak with 32 digs.

The Eagles completed the triangular losing 3-0 to Findlandia University who managed a 37.9% attack. Faith retaliated with a reasonable 22.7% but recorded 7 serve receive errors. "We did not get the wins we targeted, but through the weekend we played strong volleyball. We are still working through minor adjustments in our rotation, but with the players accepting designated roles, we are getting closer," notes Nihart. Faith was led by junior Karis Giegerich with 5 kills.

The Eagles travel to Missouri this weekend for road games Friday and Saturday and then to Emmaus Bible College (Dubuque, IA) the following weekend to participate in the MCCC conference tournament.
