ANKENY, Iowa—The Faith Eagles women's volleyball team has finalized some last-second changes to its schedule for the 2019 season. With ongoing renovations to the Nettleton Center gymnasium, Faith's home games will be played at Ankeny Christian Academy at 1604 West First Street in Ankeny until the renovations are complete. Stay tuned to fbbceagles.com for up-to-date information on game locations.
The Eagles begin their season on August 29 with a scrimmage against Iowa Wesleyan University at 6:00 p.m. on the road. Faith begins its official season as the host of the Spikefest Tournament on August 30 and 31 at Ankeny Christian Academy. Faith will host Grace Christian University and Dallas Christian College on August 30 at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. respectively. The tournament concludes on Saturday with games against the same two opponents at 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
The beginning of the season is "home-friendly" for the Eagles with 12 of their first 17 games at home. The second half of the schedule is just the opposite, with ten of their final twelve games on the road. The Eagles play five games against opponents that were ranked in the top ten of the postseason polls last year (#2 Maranatha; #4 Emmaus; #9 Grace Christian).
The Midwest Collegiate Conference Tournament is November 1-2, and the season concludes with the NCCAA Regional Tournament at Maranatha Baptist University November 7-9.
