JOPLIN, Missouri—The Faith Eagles traveled to Missouri this weekend for a trio of matches. The Eagles faced Calvary on Friday night and played a double-header on Saturday against Ozark Christian College and Manhattan Christian College in Joplin, Missouri.
Friday vs. Calvary
The Eagles played one of their better matches of the year against Calvary, falling three sets to two. After losing the first set, 25-18, the Eagles bounced back in set two, securing a 26-24 win. Another close battle in set three tilted the match back in favor of Calvary as they won 25-21. Faith showed its grit in the fourth set, battling back for a 25-22 win to take the match to a deciding fifth set. The Eagles battled hard, but fell, 15-11 in the final frame. Anissa Greiner had one of her best matches of the year, leading the way with nine kills. Fellow freshman Morgan Stephens also had one of her better matches of the season, adding 16 digs.
Saturday vs. Ozark Christian and Manhattan Christian
The Eagles concluded their weekend trip to Missouri with a pair of matches on Saturday against Ozark Christian and Manhattan Christian College. Faith was able to secure one set win against Ozark, but fell 3-1. The match against Manhattan Christian College was not as kind to the Eagles. Manhattan Christian College is rated #8 in the nation and showed its strength, taking all three sets to send the Eagles home winless during its trip to Missouri.
Faith travels to Dubuque, Iowa, on Tuesday to take on the Emmaus Eagles at 6:00 p.m.
