Volleyball Grabs a Win at Conference Tournaments

HAVILAND, Kansas—The Faith Eagles women's volleyball team closed out its season this past weekend at the MCCC Conference Tournaments in Haviland, Kansas. The ladies defeated the Calvary Warriors on Friday afternoon, before falling to the Emmaus Eagles in the semi-final round. A consolation game loss to Barclay closed out the season for the Eagles on Saturday.

The victory over Calvary was a great measuring stick for how much the Eagles have improved over the last part of the year. It was the fourth time Faith has played Calvary this season, with the Warriors winning the previous three contests.

Not only did Faith beat Calvary for the first time in four tries this year, but they also shut them out, three games to none. Unfortunately, the Eagles were unable to capitalize on their positive momentum as they fell to Emmaus, three games to none, later that evening.

Saturday's 3-0 loss to Barclay College was a difficult end to a challenging campaign for Faith. Despite the challenges, junior Alicia Smith was named Second Team All-Conference, and the entire Faith team won the Sportsmanship Award. A young squad grew throughout the season and nearly every player returns for next year's team.
