ANKENY, Iowa—A tenacious full-court pressure defense by eighth-ranked Emmaus proved too much for Faith to handle in an 89-44 loss in Ankeny Tuesday evening.
Faith turned the ball over 33 times against a suffocating full-court trapping defense, which resulted in 39 points off of turnovers for Emmaus.
The Eagles never held the lead in the game, which Emmaus also dominated in the paint, scoring 60 points to just 24 for Faith, who didn't play poorly, they were just simply overmatched by a good Emmaus team, deserving of their top ten ranking.
Faith had just one player in double figures as Rachel Kleczka posted her fifth consecutive double-double of the season with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
The Eagles (3-11) conclude a long homestand with their final home game of the season this Friday against Ecclesia at 6:30 p.m. The remaining seven games of the regular season are all on the road in February before the conference tournaments begin on February 20 in Joplin, Missouri.
