Eagles Begin Challenging Week with Loss to #3 Maranatha

WATERTOWN, Wisconsin—The Faith Eagles women's basketball team began a busy and challenging week of basketball on Monday with an 80-33 loss to third-ranked Maranatha Baptist University (12-2). The Eagles face two top ten teams in a row this week, with a trip to eighth-ranked Emmaus on Tuesday.

Not much went well for the Eagles as they fell behind 21-4 at the end of the first quarter. Faith was smothered by the Maranatha defense throughout the entire 40 minutes, connecting on just 11-of-60 shot attempts (18.3 percent) for the game (5-of-22 from three). Faith turned the ball over 25 times and was outrebounded 59-30.

Lyndi Shepard was the leading scorer for Faith with 12 points. Morgan Stephens and Rachel Kleczka snagged a team-high six rebounds each.

Faith travels to Emmaus Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. and finishes a busy week with a road game at Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberly, Missouri, on Friday at 5:00 p.m.
