Bio
Brian Fincham has served as Director of Athletics at Faith Baptist Bible College since 2008, providing leadership and vision for the department while overseeing the continued growth of its athletic programs. With more than two decades of experience in Christian collegiate athletics, he is widely recognized for his commitment to excellence in administration, coaching, and the development of Christ-centered student-athletes.
In addition to his administrative responsibilities, he enjoyed a highly successful coaching career. From 2007 to 2026, he led the men’s basketball program and became the program’s all-time winningest coach with 268 victories. His teams made four NCCAA Division II National Tournament appearances, reached a top-10 national ranking as high as sixth, and set a school record with 24 wins in a season. Along the way, he coached seven All-Americans—the most in program history. His coaching experience also includes serving as head women’s basketball coach (2004–07, 2017–19) and beginning his collegiate career as an assistant coach from 2001 to 2004.
Leadership at both the conference and national levels has been a consistent part of his career. He currently serves as President of the Midwest Christian College Conference and Chair of NCCAA Division II Men’s Basketball, following previous service as Vice Chair and in multiple regional leadership roles. His involvement also includes national committee work in eligibility, awards, and advisory leadership.
Recognition for his work has come both on and off the court. He is a two-time NCCAA Division II Men’s Basketball National Coach of the Year and a multi-time regional Coach of the Year in both men’s and women’s basketball. In 2021, he was named the Game Plan 4 LIFE Male Athletic Staff Character Award recipient. During his tenure, Faith has twice hosted the NCCAA Division II Men’s Basketball National Championship and once hosted the NCCAA Division II Women’s Basketball National Championship, highlighting the strength and organization of the institution’s athletic programs.
Academically, he holds a Master of Sports Administration from Missouri Baptist University and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and Local Church Ministries from Faith Baptist Bible College. He also earned a Professional Certificate in Online Education from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. In addition to his administrative duties, he serves as an Associate Professor, teaching courses in Foundations of Coaching, Sports Management, and Sports Physiology.
Brian and his wife, Sara, have been blessed with three children—Logan, Morgan, and Tyson. As a family, they value time together and are actively involved in their local church and community, seeking to invest in others and live out their faith.
