Men's Basketball Completes Season Sweep Against FLBC
Ankeny, IA -- The Eagles scored early and often in Friday's nightcap against FLBC, as twelve different players scored at least 3 points in the victory.
The first two minutes saw an even playing field as both teams looked to settle into Fridays' matchup. The Eagles got on the board first off of a made free throw from Asa LaFleur, but FLBC scored the next two baskets to take an early 5-1 lead. Sam Kirkman hit his first 3 pointer of the day with 17:55 to go in the first half, and from there the Eagles went on a 22-3 run over the next 4:30. That lead stuck, as Faith scored 54 points in the first half and led by 23 at the break.
The Eagles kept rolling in the second half, as all 15 available players saw the court and twelve of those scored 3 or more points. The Eagles stole the ball 18 times, and dished out 29 assists - their second time with that many this season. Faith outscored their opponent in both halves and walked away with the 97-62 victory and the season sweep over the Conquerors.
Landon Brahs stuffed the stat sheet, leading all scorers with 22 points as he added 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and 1 block to his totals. Sam Kirkman scored 16 points off of 4 made threes in his first career start, and Connor Parrish rounded out the double-digit scoring with 11 points. Quensy Ferguson added 6 assists and 5 steals on the day, and Wesley Phillips came off the bench for 9 points, all on made threes.
