Ankeny, IA -- Faith women's soccer played host to Hesston College (NAIA/NCCAA D1) on Saturday and came out with the 1-1 draw.

Annalis Benson opened up the scoring for the Eagles, assisted by Emma Boldt to mark the team's first goal and assist on the season. The defense held tight, led by Megan Yuan recording 10 saves in the goal.
Faith jumped to an early advantage in Saturday's game, as Sophomore Forward Annalis Benson scored in just the fourth minute to give the Eagles a 1-0 advantage over their opponent. Hesston pushed to even the score, but Faith's defense held fast, forcing eight of the Larks first half attempts off-target. Yuan recorded six first half saves to give the Eagles a one-goal advantage heading into the half.
The second half opened with another push from the opponents, as Hesston launched 4 quick shots, but the Eagles defense continued to hold. In the 65th minute, the Larks were finally rewarded with their only goal of the game, evening the score to 1-1. The offense evened out as both teams had several more chances to score, but ultimately the defenses stayed strong and Faith walked away with a draw to start their season.
